Watching all the characters on the program made me think. Let's say our planet did get invaded, or you were simply put in a situation where you would have to run/hide and protect yourself from something that is threatening you, what skills would you rely upon in order to survive? Personally, I don't really think I have any to be completely honest with myself! I'm not studying for a medicine degree so I wouldn't necessarily be able to offer anyone help in that department. I don't know how to use a gun or fight proplerly (certainly can not rely on the minimal kung fu/tae kwon do training I had) so I wouldn't be able to defend myself or others. I wouldn't really call myself particularly brave either. But again, you could argue that when being put into life threatening situations, your character may change and you may find yourself doing things that you didn't know you were capable of doing. How is a Law degree going to help me to survive if Aliens attack?! How is being able to play the piano, eat like a world champion or double cross my legs going to help me save the planet?
Well, I don't know. Let's just hope our planet does not get attacked by Aliens. And in case it does, I hope that I magically end up in a group with people who have all the skills one would need to survive. Yes, this is what I have been thinking about at 2am on a Tuesday morning.
