My love for the Red Hot Chili Peppers started when I was 13 and had just moved to the UK. I lived with my grandparents and aunty and was still trying to settle down properly with the new culture, school, basically everything. Whilst browsing through my Aunty's CD collection, I came across their 5th album called 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik' and was extremely attracted to the rather intriguing artwork. So I gave it a listen. I remember precisely that I especially liked Track no 11 'Under the bridge' and listened to it 10x a day without a doubt. Soon, I started listening to all their albums on youtube and decided that I was not only in love with the words of their songs that sometimes made no sense at all but also the rough looking, rebel, drug addicted (back then), lead vocalist Anthony Kiedis.
I remember watching the video to their song 'Californication' over and over again, completely mesmerised by him. You could say it was a typical teenage - celebrity crush, blinded by the fact that I would propably never get to see him in flesh and blood. A girl can only hope hey?
Soon after that they pretty much became my favourite band, beating Three Days Grace. My favourite one-liners have got to be:
"My Radio's my heart"
"Music the great communicator"
"Destruction leads to a very rough road but it also breeds creation"
"I mingle with the gods, I mingle with divinity"
"Can't stop the gods from engineering"
"This life is more than just a read thru"
And many more - these are the only ones I can think of at the moment :) So, this leads me to the title of this blog. Red Hot Chili Peppers are in fact, coming to London this November and I have no tickets! To begin with, none of my friends are RHCP fans and I did not want to go on my own. And by the time I found out that I did actually have 2 friends that liked them, the tickets sold out. I did however enter a competition to win 2 tickets to their gig in Camden town, so lets all just pray I win :)
The new Album 'I'm with you' will be released on the 30th August - I will have a special Blog update about that once I have bought it
